CD Projekt Red (CDPR) collaborated with Ukraine-based AI tool developer Respeecher to breathe life back into Reczek’s voice. This extraordinary effort was carried out with the consent of the actor’s family, as reported by Bloomberg.
Viktor Vector, in Cyberpunk 2077, is a “Ripperdoc,” a colloquial term for a doctor skilled in installing and removing cyberware. He stands as a steadfast friend to the game’s protagonist. Initially, CDPR contemplated replacing the actor due to the tragic loss. However, they opted for an alternative approach—utilizing artificial intelligence technology to retain the late actor’s impactful role within the game.
“This way we could keep his performance in the game and pay tribute to his wonderful performance as Viktor Vector,” explained CD Projekt Red Localization Director Mikołaj Szwed to Bloomberg.
